You’ve been planning your wedding for 6 to 12 months. You’re working with a great wedding planner. You and your fiancé have selected all your vendors with the assistance of your planner, sent out your invitations and received RSVPs, had your food and cake tastings, got your dress back and it fits well, got your shoes, veil and accessories, and are still on budget. You have 3 more weeks before your wedding and you feel that everything is going so well and you’ve worked through hundreds of details with your planner, so you don’t have to be concerned too much anymore about communicating regularly with your planner on the remaining details. Not so fast!
In my experience, the last 3 weeks before your wedding is the most crucial to be on top of everything and to have frequent communication with your wedding planner for those last minute details to make sure that everything goes smooth. Have all the vendors been paid on the due dates? Do you have a final head count for the caterer and cake baker? Have all your florals been ordered and double checked? Do you have confirmation from your soloists, musicians, gift attendant, readers, etc.? Do you have your final song list for the ceremony and reception? Do you need an aisle runner? Do you have enough ushers (should be one per 50 guests). Will everyone be able to make it to rehearsal? Can you schedule a rehearsal time that’s convenient for everyone even if it’s not on the Friday before the wedding? Will you have someone to check for audio at the rehearsal? Do you have your reception favors and throwaway bouquet? Do you know what you want your guests to throw when you and your husband make your grand exit? Do you have your guest book and a good pen, garter and throwaway garter, flower basket and ring pillow? Who’s going to take your gifts home and who’s going to take the top layer of your cake for you? Are you still on budget?
These are just a few last-minute details that are worked out during the last few weeks but so important for your wedding day. I like to work with my bride to iron out the details so she and her groom can have the week before the wedding just to RELAX and go to the spa. As an Accreditedl Wedding Planner and wedding planner for full-service and Day Of weddings, we will make sure that we help you handle all the many details and prepare a wedding party and service providers timeline to keep you on track on your unforgettablel, beautiful day so you will truly be a guest at your own wedding!
